CookieAR sought to create a unique augmented reality experience that combined custom-printed cookies with AR video playback. The goal was to develop a mobile app that allowed users to upload images for printing onto cookies, and then use the app to scan the cookie and display a user-uploaded video in augmented reality.
The Demski Group developed the CookieAR mobile application using Unity for the augmented reality functionality and PHP for the backend system. The solution provided a seamless user experience from image upload to AR video display.
To accomplish CookieAR’s goals, our developers created a feature that allows users to upload images through the mobile app, ensuring accurate processing and printing onto cookies. Utilizing Unity, we developed an augmented reality (AR) experience where users can scan the printed cookie with their mobile device, displaying a user-uploaded video when the cookie is scanned. We enabled video uploads from users, ensuring smooth playback in AR, and integrated video processing and storage to support various formats and sizes. Additionally, we built a robust backend using PHP to manage image and video uploads, processing, and storage, ensuring secure data handling and efficient communication between the app and the backend.
