Career Gap RX aimed to create a web platform to help users identify their dream job, assess their current skills and experience, and determine the steps needed to achieve their career goals. The existing tools were insufficient in providing personalized career insights and actionable steps. Career Gap RX required a solution that could integrate with multiple external APIs to retrieve comprehensive job data and perform GAP calculations to offer users tailored career guidance.
The Demski Group developed the Career Gap RX platform using .NET, integrating with Onet, CareerOneStop, and the Bureau of Labor Statistics APIs to retrieve job data. This data was used to perform GAP calculations, showing users what percentage of the required work experience for their dream job they had completed. The platform provided a user-friendly interface, allowing users to explore potential careers, assess their current skills, and receive personalized recommendations.
Our platform included features such as dream job identification, enabling users to explore and match with careers based on their interests and skills through a user-friendly interface. It assessed users’ current skills, experience, and qualifications by allowing them to input their work history, education, and other relevant information. The GAP calculation feature integrated with Onet, CareerOneStop, and the Bureau of Labor Statistics APIs to retrieve detailed job data and compared users’ capabilities with job requirements, providing a percentage completion of the required experience. Additionally, it offered personalized recommendations on steps users could take to bridge the gap, such as gaining specific skills, certifications, or experience, and provided resources and links to relevant training programs, courses, and job opportunities. The user-friendly interface was designed to be responsive and intuitive, ensuring a seamless user experience with modern design principles.
